THE NEXT ACCIDENT

What You're Dying to Know

THE NEXT ACCIDENT

Question Tell us a little bit about THE NEXT ACCIDENT.
Answer THE NEXT ACCIDENT reunites Rainie and Quincy as they chase down a madman who is methodically killing off Quincy's family. Very frightening. More sex. You'll like it.

Question Where did you get the idea for this thriller?
Answer I'm not sure. It just sort of grew out of THE THIRD VICTIM. Originally, THE THIRD VICTIM was going to be a single novel, completing Quincy's story from THE PERFECT HUSBAND. But the subject matter was so intense in THE THIRD VICTIM, I didn't feel there was enough room to develop Rainie and Quincy's romance. I really did want them to get together, however, so I decided they simply needed another book. Voila, THE NEXT ACCIDENT.

Question Was it difficult to write such a violent book?
Answer Well, I'm not sure what it says about me, but THE NEXT ACCIDENT turned out less violent than planned. In theory, one more character was going to die—I won't tell you who. In the end, however, I liked the character so much, I let the person live. Sometimes authors are generous that way.

Question The identity theft angle was so creepy! How did you learn of such a thing?
Answer I saw it on Dateline. It freaked me out quite a bit. And then I knew I had a book idea.
