A savvy reader happened to notice that Susan Elizabeth Phillips's August 29th paperback release, MATCH ME IF YOU CAN, and Lisa's upcoming January '07 release, HIDE, share something in common: a heroine named Annabelle Granger. Upon comparing notes, Lisa learned that Susan Elizabeth Phillips named her heroine after Hermione from Harry Potter, whereas Lisa was honoring her father's side of the family, the Grangers. So purely by chance, the literary world is now graced with two Annabelle Grangers in two fabulously original novels.

Actor Courtney Vance emceed the event, which also inducted John Antioco, Chairman and CEO of Blockbuster, Kool & the Gang and several others into the very illustrious Hall of Fame. Afterwards, Lisa and Anthony got a chance to hobnob with the celebrities, which basically meant Anthony did his best to rub shoulders with Anna Kournikova, while Lisa tried to get up the courage to approach Ruben Stoddard. Oh, that man can sing! The next morning included speeches from General Wesley Clark and Commissioner of Baseball Bud Selig. All in all, a wonderful celebration for a great organization. Happy birthday, Boys & Girls Club, and thank you for letting us be a part of it.
